Only Just Sit Saturday March 6

Only Just Sit
A monthly day of silent sitting and walking meditation.
Saturday March 6

It is futile to travel to other dusty countries thus forsaking your own seat; if your first step is false, you will immediately stumble.
All you have to do is cease from erudition, withdraw within and reflect upon yourself.
Should you be able to cast off body and mind naturally, the Buddha Mind will immediately manifest itself;
if you want to find it quickly, you must start at once.
from Fukanzazengi, Rules for Meditation,
Great Master Eihei Dogen 1227

Need some silent meditation time ? Don't have the time/resources to travel to your favorite retreat center ? Want to work on developing longer meditation practice ?

This retreat is structured as two half-day sittings: from 9am to 12 noon and 1:30pm to 4:40pm. Come for the morning or afternoon half-day, or stay for the full day. We will alternate 40 minutes of seated meditation with 10 minutes of walking meditation. Non-denominational: just sitting and walking silent meditation. Scheduled for the first Saturday of each month. Bellringer: Bob.

All donations support the Dharma Center: $10 - $20 per half day would be appreciated.

This is probably not the best way to begin a meditation practice, so mediation instruction will not be offered. [Meditation instruction is available at almost any other Dharma Center meditation time.]

Living the Awakened Life March 26 and 27

This retreat *will not* take place at Skycreek Dharma Center.
Both events will take place at the Satori Center, 1180 Palmetto (details below).

Living the Awakened Life

An evening Satsang and one day retreat with Marlies Cocheret De La Morinière.

How wonderful it is to sit and know I am Stillness, or to have a spiritual experience where the Unity of all is revealed. It is quite another task to live and be that realization as we move through the world.

How to embody this experience of Stillness? What happens when someone triggers you? Or when you are sick? Or a loved one dies? Or when you fall in love? How can we stay awake amidst the parade of thoughts, the appearances of the world, losses and gains, and all the experiences of this human life?

The Buddha spoke about being a lamp onto ourselves, completely owning and being the fundamental Silence that is always here, always available - and letting that be the source of movement in our lives. This satang and retreat is an invitation to deepen into this natural beauty that you already are.

Satsang: Friday March 26th 7-9pm. Meditation, followed by a talk and dialogue with Marlies. $10

Retreat: Saturday March 27th 10am-5pm. Silent sitting, dharma talk and dialogue, and inquiry into the truth of our deepest nature. $60 if registered by March 1st, $70 after

Both events will take place at the Satori Center, 1180 Palmetto, Chico. For more information, to RSVP for the Satsang, or to register for the retreat, emailsatorihealingcenter@gmail.com or call Luke 530 891 6524.

Marlies will also be available for private sessions on March 26th and 28th.

Marlies Cocheret De La Morinière has been offering Satsang since 2000, when Adyashanti asked her to teach. She also works as a counselor, certified hakomi therapist, and certified tantric educator in the USA, Canada, and the Netherlands. Marlies is known for being loving, yet direct with a sense of humor. She brings spirituality from the clouds right down into this human body experience.
